Do You Use Flocabulary?? {Free Trial!}

Happy Wednesday blog friends! It's a snow day for me today in Tennessee, so I thought I would take this chance to pop in and share with you about an amazing site that I have been using in my classroom called Flocabulary. Have you heard about it? Are you already using it? If not, I am here today to share with you about Flocabulary and offer you a 75 day free trial

Here's the scoop about Flocabulary and why you should totally take advantage and sign up for the free trial!

- Flocabulary is a web-based learning program for all grades and subjects that uses educational hip-hop music to engage students and increase achievement.

- Teachers in more than 50,000 schools have used Flocabulary’s standards-based videos, instructional activities and formative assessments to develop core literacy skills and supplement instruction across the curriculum.

- With new and expanding resources for writing and project-based learning, Flocabulary is a springboard into student-centered instruction. Check out our Writing Academic Rhymes resources to lead students in their own educational rap-writing!
- Flocabulary offers more than 700 videos with accompanying classroom resources and formative assessments to support instruction in math, science, social studies, ELA, vocabulary, current events and life skills, with new content every week.

-In addition to the catchy hip-hop music that helps you teach the standards, Flocabulary also offers graphics organizers, quizzes, printable worksheets, lesson plans, games, quick review activities, CCSS alignment, and quizzes (paid subscription required for the quiz part).
-Songs and videos available for math, language arts, vocabulary, science, social studies, life skills, and current events.
-For grades K-12. There is something for all grade levels! Each video is labeled which grade/grade band it is suited for. Plus it lists the objectives and standards!

One thing that I really love about Flocabulary is that there is a printable page with the song lyrics. This allows me to display this on my Smartboard and us to go back fill in the blanks together. You could also print it off. You can also click on the blank for the missing word to appear.
Here is one we did recently after watching the Fiction vs. Nonfiction video.

We have been focusing on geometry in math recently... there was a Flocabulary video that was perfect for me to use during that unit! The lyrics to the songs are so catchy and the kids LOVE it!

Do yourself a favor and check out Flocabulary and sign up for the free trial! You won't be disappointed! You have until February 26th to sign up and get the extended 75 days of FREE access! What are you waiting for??

Click the pic below to go to the special promo page for the 75-day free trial

Five for Friday! {February 6, 2016}

I'm linking up with Kacey from Doodle Bugs for Five for Friday! Here are five random things from my week!

I meant to do a groundhog prediction on Monday... and we had so much to do it just didn't happen. And then on Tuesday morning, some of them came in first thing and said he didn't see his shadow. So no prediction writing this year... But we did read some groundhog books and learned that groundhogs can whistle...so I asked students if they could whistle and we made a little graph. I also made some groundhog cupcakes the night before to bring. They sorta look like groundhogs, right??

We learned all about Polar Bears this week! It's safe to say we may be Polar Bear experts now! ;) We also made a super tasty snazzy snack! I was pretty pumped when I seen the Blue Bell ice cream cups... I had no idea it was back in Tennessee! Blue Bell is my favorite!

We also learned all about friendly letters this week. My kids had to write a friendly letter to a classmate or someone else at school. These two cuties picked me to write too. I love what they wrote! Talk about melt my heart!!

To kick off our Valentine activities for next week we read Froggy's First Kiss and made these cute Froggy and Frogilina craft from my Froggy's First Kiss Companion Pack. This may be one of my favorite crafts we do... they turned out sooo cute!
We have also been working hard with our station activities! Moby Max on the Kindles, graphing, Deedee's writing station, sentence writing, write the room, addition to 20 and so much more!

Well friends that's my Five for Friday! I'm off to binge watch some One Tree Hill on Netflix and clean the house...wild times! :)

Have a fabulous weekend!!
